International Ministry of Jesus
Making disciples, serving those in need, faithfully proclaiming the Word of God, and teaching others to do the same in Tanzania.
“If anyone thirsts, let him come to me and drink. Whoever believes in me… ‘Out of his heart will flow rivers of living water.’” – John 7:37-38

About IMOJ
International Ministry of Jesus (IMOJ) launched in 2023 in Africa in response to a very practical and urgent need among the rural, drought-stricken Maasai communities of Tanzania: water.
From our very first encounter with the Maasai, however, the invitation was about more than water. We were asked to bring the story of the one true God and the Good News of Jesus Christ. As relationships grew and doors opened, our Tanzanian national team and visiting U.S. teams began responding to opportunities to share God’s Word in communities where many have had limited access to biblical teaching.
Today, IMOJ’s ministry in Tanzania is centered on two life-giving resources: clean, accessible water and the living Word of God.
We work alongside local communities, churches, and ministry partners to help provide sustainable sources of clean water while strengthening believers through biblical discipleship, Scripture, evangelism, and leadership development.
A significant part of this work is Orality Bible Training. Orality is a method of communicating Scripture through the spoken word rather than relying primarily on written materials. In cultures where knowledge and traditions are often passed from generation to generation through stories, songs, and oral teaching, Bible storytelling provides a powerful and culturally meaningful way to communicate the truths of Scripture.
IMOJ invites individuals, churches, and ministry partners to join us in this work by helping provide:
- Sustainable clean-water projects for rural communities
- Orality Bible training and discipleship
- Bibles and Scripture resources
- The JESUS Film and evangelistic outreach
- Training and equipping for local believers and ministry leaders
Our work has begun among the Maasai of Tanzania, but our vision reaches beyond any one people group or community.
Our desire is to see communities transformed as people receive clean water, encounter the living Word of God, become disciples of Jesus, and are equipped to carry the Gospel to others—including those who have yet to hear His name.
